Meet the Founder

David M. Kaye, CFA, CPA/ABV, CA

Dave is the Founder of Excelsior Business Advisors and serves as a Principal based in Minneapolis.  He has been providing valuation and accounting advisory services with respect to equity, debt, hybrid, and derivative securities, as well as intangible and other financial assets since 2007.  Having spent most of his career in the corporate finance and valuation advisory groups of public accounting firms and advisory firms, Dave established Excelsior in 2023 to provide high-quality independent valuation and accounting advisory services to clients nationally. 

Dave has performed valuation analyses for a range of purposes including but not limited to financial reporting, tax compliance, litigation, matrimonial dissolution, and other dispute resolution, as well as fairness, solvency opinions and transaction feasibility analyses.  As a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Accountant, he is well versed and experienced in both U.S. GAAP and IFRS financial reporting standards as well as other international accounting frameworks. 

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in New York and Minnesota, and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) through the AICPA.  He is also a Chartered Accountant (CA), and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife Elizabeth, and their boys Sam and Will.
